11th-Jan-2009 04:01 pm - And now for something I never do...
...a bit of camera whoring.
I got my concert outfit on Friday and I finally got to try everything on today. You just have to love shoes that make you 4 inches taller. XD

Me thinks I should have put on some foundation... )
31st-Jul-2008 09:39 pm - Well that was....fun

Wow It took 13 hours but I finally have electricity again!

At around five this morning, one doozy of a storm hit. It started out with a little rain and next thing I knew...Bang! Hail and wind. According to the weather service, we had wind in excess of 86 mph. Most of the trees in my neighborhood are down, I lost two from my yard alone. A few were snapped in two, but the majority of them were ripped right out of the ground. (even pine trees) One of them came down in the 25 foot gap between my house and the neighbors and somehow, amazingly managed to miss both our houses.

I sat around, drank my coffee and watched. Sensible people probably would have retreated for their basements but I never have been accused of being sensible. My two younger cats were freaked out, but the oldest (Tucker) took the whole thing in stride. He's lived through Oregon floods and Colorado twisters over the past eleven years, so his big reaction when the huge birch tree came down, was too calmly walk over and sit down under the table. Thats my boy. ^_-

Once it finally blew over by around 7:30, the power was down all over. I went up to work and made sure everything was intact and there were chunks of tin-roofing all over our street, but no broken windows thank goodness. Of course also no power. -_-'
So no point in hanging around, I headed back home, swapped my dress shirt and high heels for some old cowboy boots and a T-shirt and started cleaning up dead tree carnage! When I went over too check on the Evil Twin's grandparents I found out that not only had a tree come down on their house, but also that his grandfather had suffered a stroke that morning and had to be rushed to the hospital. One freaking thing after another! Which reminds me that I need to call and check in on his little sister. *sigh* Ah, well at least I have power and AC again. ^^

Say hello to Mr. Kill, my giant gelatinous landmass of a cat.

Now Mr. Kill and the Evil Good Twin are very close. In fact he really acts more like Dustin's cat than mine. Normally hes deathly shy and will run hiding under the nearest piece of furniture any time someone comes over to visit, but upon meeting the Evil Twin years ago...well you could say it was love at first sight for Mr. Kill! Now anytime he comes over, Mr. Kill comes bounding up the stairs to meet him....him and ...his shoes. Yes you might say that Mr. Kill even loves the shoes more than the man. The moment Dustin takes his shoes off, Mr. Kill is all over the things! He chews on them, he kicks them, he rolls around on the floor with his face shoved in them. A new type of catnip? The world may never know.
But alas, Mr. Kill is being deprived of his real owner for a few weeks. The Evil Twin is in the military and has had to leave for a few weeks for extra training. Before he left though, we had started a bit of running joke.

"Will you miss me?"
"No, but the cat will be devastated. Imagine the shoe withdrawals he'll be going through!"

Well I had to work the day he left, but when I returned home I was greeted with a strange sight.......

How friggin hot is my desktop?

...and yes BT fans, its going to be a series. ^^

4th-Feb-2008 05:39 pm - Too fey for the U.S.A.????

Some news articles should come with a warning label: "Warning! Do not read the following, if you currently have matter of any kind in your mouth. The ensuing hysterical laughter may cause choking and death."

Maybe...just maybe..if they did something like that, I would stop having to spew half chewed food on the news paper, nearly every day.
Yes, the Star Tribune, ran another doosey today. It would appear that Mika is going to be doing a show in Minneapolis this Wednesday. God only knows why. Then again...we've had Dir en Grey, so we must be a hip state! Right? ....Right? Nope didn't think so.

I was already giggling and snorting when I saw the headline, proclaiming: Too fey for the U.S.A.? Is that a typo or a Freudian slip? You be the judge.
Needless to say, by the time I got to the guide on how to properly pronounce "Mika", Jesus thats a hard one, I was laughing my ass off. Then came the description of his "flamboyant appearance". Maybe it was the fact that T.M.Revolution's Albireo was blaring through my ear buds, creating feather and glitter drenched parallels in my brain, but I found that part particularly hilarious.
...God I almost forgot that the headline for the front page, was something about how; despite being wildly popular overseas, in America we couldn't arrest him......yeah....I'm still trying to decide how I should take that statement......

Anyway, I finally got around to calling my hairstylist today. -_-'
Looks like shes back from New York. She was over there for a few weeks training with the Matrix salon's runway stylists. I guess all I can do is hope to god she doesn't try to cram mattress stuffing in my hair.
So, I'm going in, in two weeks, to get something done with the disaster that is my hair. I feel draaaaab! Meh...I shall most likely overcompensate for that, by having her put in bright red streaks. Mwahahah....... this means I have to decide on a hairstyle. >.<
